Project 7: Photo Effects

Daguerrotype

This is my daguerrotype picture. I took it of the hawthorne bridge, and I liked in the original picture of the bridge because of the branches coming in from the side, but also the simplicity of the picture. I decided that it would look nice for a daguerrotype because of the main focus on the bridge and vignetter that would capture it, and also how it would be realistic that it was made by using the daguerrotype technique. I edited it in photoshop, and used a certain texture to bring out the bridge and contrast well. Overall, I think it demonstrates the daguerrotype technique well.

Tilt Shift

This is my tilt shift photo. I took the photo off of Vista Bridge, attempting to catch the car in the middle of the subject matter, and being the main focus. Because of the vantage point and focus on the car, I thought it would be a good photo to make my tilt shift. I kept the main focus point on the car, and blurred the surroundings. I increased the saturation and the radius in order to provide the tilt shift effect, creating the illusion that the car is smaller than it actually is. I edited the contrast, and then I was finished.

Project 6 Multiple Image Techniques

Panorama Photo

This was my panoramic photo. I decided to use my backyard as a subject matter, despite having other photos for a Panoramic photo and HDR photo because of the dynamic lighting. I liked how one side of my backyard was dark and showed the sunset, but the other side was very bright. I thought that by putting it into a panorama would produce a very unique photo. I took four different photos of my backyard by slowly rotating my camera on a platform, and then stitched them together in photoshop, warped and cropped the photos,  and edited the brightness, contrast, curves, and shadows, and produced this panorama. I thought that this panorama was very interesting because of the difference of lighting and sudden change in the photo.

HDR Photo

This is my HDR photo, taken in my backyard. I decided to take it because of the very bright sky and parts of the trees, but also because of the dark shadows in parts because of the trees shadows. I took three different photos with three different exposures, one high, one low, and one medium. I edited it with HDR to bring out all of the details and to make it so that it is no longer under or over exposed. I think it displays aspects of an HDR photo well, and like the overall effect produced and different lighting and shadows.

                                                           

                                                              Multiple Exposure Photo's

This was a multiple exposure photo that I took. The first photo I took of a painting by the entrance of Lincoln, and the second one was a still life that I set up with a flower. I liked the effect that was created by the flower appearing transparent, but the petals seemingly being an actual part of the painting. I also liked the shadows that were created, and the cool palette created by the similarity of cool colors. 

These were two different photos that I took on Mt. Bachelor. I liked the difference of light and shadows and contrast, and how the ski lift was reflected in the sky with the other pictures of snow, and ghostly evergreen matched with the other trees. I also liked how the main pole of the ski lift was blended in the first tree. I edited it with the multiple exposure effect, and changed the opacity to make it look the best. Overall, I think it changes the mood to a somewhat dark mood, but also reflects a gentle and light mood by the mountain illuminated in the background.
